Trail Maintenance on the Go
The Kidman Trail needs your help, as a trail user and supporter, to maintain and improve the asset over the coming years and provide supporting information for trail users, map updates etc.
Modern technology can help us do this! yes, your mobile phone with camera and GPS or seperate camera and hand held GPS units can provide incredible data.
We have ongoing work to:
Establish photo-points to aid environmental monitoring
Record all trail related road safety signage
Record all gates and horse or human “step-overs” or stiles
Record all public horse watering points
..and develop speciality information relating to trail surface type, traffic counts, landscape information. If you would like to help, please contact the trail manager if you would like to assist at the same time as enjoying the trail!
The forms and reporting system set out below will be all that you are required to need to start, along with a camera and GPS.
Maybe a youth, school or trail user club may like to include data collection as an aspect of a trail experience!
